Handy Flux B-1 is a water based, boron bearing active flux which is used in open air brazing for both ferrous and non-ferrous metals to promote oxide removal. Due to its boron content, Handy Flux B-1 is particularly well suited for removing refractory oxides such as chromium and tungsten, i.e. oxides found on stainless steel and tungsten oxide, as well as extended heating cycles where a standard white brazing flux may become saturated.
